1. DEVELOPMENT STUDIES:
While this is a popular option chosen by students in the UK
and USA, this discipline is less known to the Indian students.
Infact, apart from IIT, the only other popular University to
offer this course is the Tata Institute of Social Sciences,
Mumbai.
This specialization is designed to give
students an insight into three thematic modules on
Students desirous of careers with NGO,
International Organisations and Major Corporate Houses, where
they could act as catalyst of social change can take up this
discipline.
2. ECONOMICS
Students
who opt for this discipline will be given intensive
orientation and training to various branches of Economics,
Statistics and Quantitative Techniques. Further, elective
courses in Banking, Environment, International Trade will
eventually help students to find employment in Banks,
International Organisations and Corporate Sector.
3. ENGLISH STUDIES
Students with a flair for English language and love for
literary and linguistic analysis can opt for this discipline.
Apart from courses in literary areas and linguistics, students
are adequately exposed to Sociology, History and Economics
thus preparing them for a variety of careers such as
Journalism, Civil Services, Hospitality Management, Language
Training and Corporate Communications. |
